Great Pictures = Selling on Etsy !

Okay, so there is more to it than just taking great pictures. But it does help when you need to sell your product! There are millions of items being sold on Etsy so how do you make yours stand out? (I am new to Etsy but I have a lot of experience selling on Ebay.)

Here are a couple tips for taking Great Pictures!

If your item pertains to a certain holiday, then use a background color that represents that holiday. Here, I used a red woven material for Valentines Day. I was also able to shape the Heart shaped buttons into a Heart. ( a little overkill but it sold Fast!)

It also pays to have a CLEAR close-up of your item/items using a camera with macro capabilities. Play around with the arrangement and lighting to get the best detail. Natural light can give the truest color, but can sometimes be harsh, so play around with the color and exposure adjustments on your computer program, till you get the most pleasing effects! A tripod or a steady hand helps too.

This is an example of a BAD PICTURE! See how dull and life less? Drab background color. I used overhead lighting (ceiling fixture with a 60 watt bulb) .
Here I played around a little bit with the computer settings to make a better picture. See how the colors POP. This can make your items really catch the eye of a prospective customer!
